Year ago when I was living in East Texas, I once got away for a couple of weeks and managed to spend some time at the wonderful Valley View Hot Springs at the Orient Land Trust, high up in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. I’d been there a day when I noticed that something seemed a little off about my towel - the texture was different than it normally was, and they felt just a little bit lighter. It took me a minute before I realized what was happening - my towel was dry. After years of living in that gulf humidity, I’d just grown accustomed to a towel being a thing that was always slightly damp. Funny how changes in the atmosphere can affect things like that. At least I hope it is, otherwise I’ve completely failed here.
