When It Rains...
Sometimes something unexpected falls from the sky
Thanks to all the paid subscriber out there. If you aren’t among those ranks, this is a really good week to hit that button.
One of the odd things about publishing these newsletters every week is that it straddles the line between a staffed, professional publication and something purely personal like an old-school blog. I try very hard to keep up a regular publication schedule, but it’s basically a one man and a few machines operation over here. And this week one of those machines essential to my production process unexpectedly died. I’ve got a replacement coming, but it wouldn't be here in time for me to get any new content out for paid subscribers this week. But, having already had to take off a week recently because of another disaster, I felt bad about having to leave you all hanging for another week. But one of the benefits of having been doing this for more time than I care to remember is I’ve got a good-sized archive of stuff that’s just been sitting around by this point, in various styles that I’ve worked in either for myself or for clients over the years. So I thought I’d dig in and share a few highlights from the most recent decades for your enjoyment. If supply chains hold, there will be new stuff for you next week, but I hope you enjoy this little trip to the past. If you want to know more about any particular piece, just ask in the comments and I’ll see what I can remember.
Postcards
I absolutely love postcards and I’ve been collecting them for years, particularly old comic postcards, with their very specific funny but not quite funny gags. Every now and then I just like to put together some postcard designs of my own. Most of these never see the light of day, but here are a few for you, and if you like these and want to join the Planet Nude Sticker Club that may possibly be a way to see some more postcards from me.
